Lucknow: The BJP in Uttar Pradesh will set up a Cyber Sena for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The party plans enroll two lakh trained social media experts for the state in the coming three months.

BJP’s state vice president J.P.S. Rathore told reporters that “The internet and social media have become an effective and efficient tool to take various welfare schemes to the masses. They have also evolved as a viable medium to communicate the party’s views to the people. The party is mulling to prepare an army of 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh trained workers across the state. These Cyber Sena workers will be known as Cyber Yoddha.”.

The BJP leader clarified that the Cyber Sena would remain in place even after the Lok Sabha elections because the BJP, as a party, always remained in an election mode.

“As soon as one election gets over, we start preparing for the next. Election preparation and creative work for the organisation continue simultaneously”, he said.

He said that the social media can play an important role in spreading awareness among people.

“We will be setting up a social media team at every polling booth and this will become an example for other states to follow for dissemination of information,” he explained.
