Ahmedabad: While addressing a public rally in PM Modi’s home state, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, “the institutions of the country are being attacked under the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre.”

Gandhi said the judges of the Supreme Court are seeking “justice” complaining that they are not being allowed to function.

Hitting out at the Modi government, Gandhi said, “In today’s India the judges of the Supreme Court seek justice in front of people…This is not happening only with the Supreme Court…The institutions are under attack everywhere.”

“First time in history, 4 Supreme Court judges went to press and said they are not allowed to work. Generally, people go to Supreme Court for justice but in today’s Hindustan, SC judges are going to public and asking for justice,” Gandhi said at the Jan Sankalp rally of the Congress in the Gujarat capital.

“After years, CWC meeting has taken place in Gujarat. We conducted the meeting here, because there’s fight between two ideologies in the country and in Gujarat you will find both the ideologies,” Gandhi said.

He said that this is a fight of ideologies as on one side is hate of Godse, and on the other side is Mahatma Gandhi. The victory will be of love.

Congress chief said the government doesn’t talk about the real issues. “The biggest issue in the country is unemployment, which is at 45-year high but the government doesn’t talk about this,” he said.

He attacked PM Modi over his 2014 promise of "depositing" Rs 15 lakh in the account of every citizen.

"Gabbar Singh Tax (GST) can't be understood by our traders even today (after its was implemented nationwide last year)," he said.

"Did people get Rs 15 lakh into their bank accounts as promised by Narendra Modi?" he questioned the citizens who attended the rally.

Amid the Pulwama terror attack and air strikes by India, Gandhi said it was National Security Adviser Ajit Doval who has sent Jaish-e- Mohammed chief Massod Azhar to freedom in a "special plane". "Who sent Pulwama terror attack perpetrator Masood Azhar to Pakistan?" he asked the crowd.

"Masood Azhar was sent in a special aircraft and NSA Ajit Doval accompanied him," Gandhi answered his query for the crowd.

These remarks were made at an election rally in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar after attending the Congress Working Committee meet at Ahmedabad.
