This is the second post by Robert, first one being right after Priyanka’s appointment as the AICC general secretary in charge of eastern UP.

‘There is a very vindictive and vicious political atmosphere... But I know, it’s her duty to serve the people and now we hand her to the people of India. Please keep her safe,’ Robert Vadra also wrote. (Photo: PTI)

New Delhi: General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s husband Robert Vadra has appealed to the people of India to keep his “best friend, a perfect wife and best mother” safe on Facebook and wished her luck.

This is the second post by Robert Vadra, who is being questioned by the ED for three consecutive days last week in connection with a probe into allegations of money laundering to purchase assets abroad, in support the AICC general secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Before this Vadra had posted his congratulations to Priyanka Gandhi after she was appointed the general secretary of the Congress party along with senior leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.

“Congratulations P... always by your side in every phase of your life. Give it your best,” Robert Vadra wrote on Facebook moments after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was given her first official role in the party headed by her brother Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka, who is been hailed as the big game changer for the Congress party in the crucial electoral state of Uttar Pradesh, launched the roadshow in the state capital along with brother Rahul Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

She is in Lucknow for a four-day visit, her first trip since formally joining politics two weeks ago, as she started making preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Shortly before arriving in Lucknow, Priyanka joined Twitter and has already amassed close to 52,000 followers.

On February 7, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra dropped off her husband at the Enforcement Directorate office in Delhi and also picked him up after his questioning.

"I stand by my husband," Priyanka Gandhi told NDTV that day, delivering what she called a "clear" message to those targeting her family.
