Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Friday said that art and terrorism should not be mixed and that he personally likes to have a situation of peace and harmony.

The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPAA) on Thursday had passed a resolution to ban actors from Pakistan in the wake of the Uri attack.

Stressing that the action (surgical strike) taken by the Indian Army was proper as it was against terrorism, Mr Khan said, “We have killed the terrorists. Artists are not terrorists. These are two different subjects. They (Pakistani artists) come to our country after acquiring visa and it’s our government which allows them with the work permit in our country.”

Speaking on IMPAA’s resolution to ban all Pakistani actors and technicians till the situation is back to normal, Mr Khan said, “Were any of you there when this resolution was passed Anyway, I think I have said what I wanted to. And it’s going to be played over and over again.” Though the Dabangg star emphasised upon the importance of prevalence of peace in the society, he cited Army’s action of rooting out terrorists from PoK, proper and much requisite.

“The ideal situation should have been peaceful but since it (Uri attack) has happened so obviously the action will have a reaction to it. But in this day, in this age I think living with love and peace would have been better, especially for the common people. It was a proper action because they were terrorists,” he added.

For the unversed, two Pakistani soldiers and over 30 terrorists were reportedly killed in the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army.

The action was in response to the terrorist attack at Uri in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 19 Indian Army soldiers.
