Bengaluru: The much anticipated political rally of Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP PM candidate, Narendra Modi, scheduled for later this month in Bengaluru, is likely to be postponed to the second week of November on account of the coming assembly elections in five states and the Diwali holidays. “We had requested Modi to address a rally in Beng aluru in the third week of October. But due to the elections in other states, it will not be possible for him to come here this month. We will discuss a fresh date with him,” said former CM D.V. Sadan anda Gowda. With Modi expected to campaign for the elections in Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, scheduled for betwe e n November 25 and December 7, and in Chattisgarh, going to polls on November 11 and 19, the party has decided to seek fresh dates from him for his Bengaluru rally . “We had requested Modi to address a rally in Bengaluru in the third week of October. But due to the elections in other states, it will not be possible for him to come here this month. We will discuss a fresh date with him in Mumbai where all state leaders are meeting on October 8,” said former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda. According to a senior RSS functionary, Modi’s rally may be held after Diwali as people from North India, who traditionally vote for the BJP, are likely to return to their own states for the holidays. “The rally could be held in November second week as a result,” he added, revealing that with a crowd of over 2.15 lakh expected at the rally, it could be organised either in Nelamangala on Bengaluru's outskirts or in the Bengaluru Palace Grounds. Former deputy Chief Minister R.Ashok will be in charge of organising it.
