Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for failing the youth.

Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav on Wednesday blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP for failing the youth. Mr Yadav, while addressing the youth in the party, said that the Prime Minister had promised a better future for the youth but nothing has happened. He said unemployment was on the rise and there were no job opportunities as promised by the BJP. “The BJP has also betrayed the farmers because a large section of farmers in the country have been driven to the brink of starvation. In sharp contrast, the Akhilesh government has fulfilled all promises that the party made in its election manifesto,” he said.

He pointed out that the Modi government had failed the minorities too. “Mr Modi talks of equality for all but the BJP men go around attacking Muslims. Is this the tolerance he talks of ” the SP chief asked.

Mr Yadav also criticised the foreign policy of the Modi government and said that infiltration from Pakistan and China borders was continuing but the Prime Minister had not taken any visible steps to check this.

Mr Yadav came down heavily on the young leaders in the party and asked them to discipline themselves before asking for anything. The Samajwadi president took umbrage at a group of youth leaders who kept shouting slogans through his speech. “Indiscipline will not be tolerated at any cost and if you cannot remain in discipline, I will note down all the names and take action,” he warned.
