Photographs of more than 50 college-going girls have been morphed and pasted on nude bodies on social media sites along with their names, addresses and their “rates”.

Majority of the girls belong to Mathura and Vrindavan, while some of them are form Lucknow and Patna.

Laxmi Gautam, founder president of Kanak Dhara Foundation, an NGO working for women, said that the girls have stopped going to college and remain confined within their homes since their names and addresses have been circulated on the social media sites along with their morphed photos.

The Kanak Dhara Foundation has informed the office of the chief minister and the Prime Minister about the matter and the issue is now being taken up with the women commission.

Meanwhile, SSP Mathura Babloo Kumar said that the matter is being handed over to the crime branch for investigation even though no formal complaint has been lodged with the police.

It may be recalled that a similar case was reported in Mathura last year and the cyber cell was asked to investigate the same and arrest the culprits. The cyber cell had failed to track down the culprits.
