A Lashkar-e-Tayyaba commander, Irfan Tandewala, is leading another group of eight to nine LeT terrorists who have divided themselves into subgroups and are armed with automatic weapons, warn the latest inputs.

The group has been camping for the last 15 days near the vulnerable riverine gaps of the Nikki Tawi and Badi Tawi in Jammu region for successful infiltration within the next few days.

The agencies have said this group has already reconnoitred the area and contacted a “local guide” for logistical support once they infiltrate. The government has been warned that if the infiltration attempt is unsuccessful, they may resort to firing on BSF posts to inflict casualties on troops.

The Army and BSF are keeping a careful vigil to foil likely terrorist-related incidents in the coming days. The Jammu sector is particularly vulnerable as the intelligence agencies have also warned of a third strike that could emanate from a group of four to five LeT terrorists camping across at least two Indian border outposts in Jammu and being extended support by Pakistani border-guarding troops.
