Social activist Anna Hazare arrived here on Thursday for treatment at a private hospital on the city outskirts.

Hazare, 74, who is leading a campaign for a strong Lokpal (ombudsman) bill, has been unwell for some time.

A group of his supporters from India Against Corruption movement were at the Bangalore airport to greet him as he flew in from New Delhi.

Hazare was driven to the Jindal Naturecure Institute, about 40 km from the airport, for naturopathy treatment and rest.

He was admitted to a hospital in Pune in December 2011 after breaking his fast in Mumbai as he suffered from chest infection.
