Goa party quits govt, plans BJP poll tieup

The Maharashtrawadi Gom-antak Party on Sunday withdrew support from Goa’s Congress-led coalition government and announced an alliance with the BJP for the March 3 Assembly election.
MGP president Deepak Dhavalikar said his party had told Goa governor K. Sankarnarayanan, Asse-mbly Speaker Pratapsinh Rane and chief minister Digambar Kamat in writing of its decision. MGP minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar had resigned last week.
