UP teen to PM Modi: Save me from stalker
The girl said that she was being stalked by the accused and had stopped going out of her house.
Lucknow: A 13-year old girl in Muzaffarnagar district has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to save her from a man who has been sexually harassing her and has even tried to kidnap her.
“She used to go to school in a tempo, and this man even tried to pull her out of the vehicle once. We filed an FIR against him on August 10 after that incident, under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC and sections of the Pocso Act, but he was not arrested. He continues to harass my daughter who is a student of Class 7. We are even being pressurised to take back out case,” the girl’s father said.
The girl said, “We waited for the police to take action for almost one month and now I have written to the Prime Minister to save me from this man so that I can continue with my studies.”
The girl said that she was being stalked by the accused and had stopped going out of her house. SP City Omvir Singh, when contacted, said that he would set up an inquiry into the delay in action. “I will personally look into the case and ensure that the girl is not harassed,” he said.
