UP man tries to rape 10-yr-old in forested area, fails; girl raises alarm
The girl's father has alleged that she was picked up by the man when she had gone to drink water.
Muzaffarnagar: In Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, a young man allegedly tried to rape a 10-year-old girl when she went to drink water from a nearby hand pump during school hours.
The incident took place on Monday and a case was registered against the nephew of a village head, Station House Officer (SHO) Kuldeep Singh said.
The girl's father has alleged that she was picked up by the man when she had gone to drink water. He took her to a forested area where he tried to rape her, the officer said.
The girl raised an alarm and the man fled the spot. She then went back to her school and informed her teacher, Singh said.
The accused is absconding and police is on a look-out.
