Man hacks senior’s email account, held Hyderabad: A B.Tech student allegedly hacked into a senior girl student’s mail account and registered it on a porn website with the same account as hers. The accused, Goli Subhash Chandra Bose, 22, a second year student of Vivekananda Global Group of Institutions, Hayathnagar, also put up photos of the victim and her sister on the porn website.Cyber Crime police arrested the accused on Monday. Cops suspect the accused wanted to harass the victim, who is a fourth year engineering student in the same college, due to a personal grudge.Subhash, who stole the ID and password of the victim from a common friend of theirs, logged into her account and linked it to the porn site. “He got her password from their common friend. He has a habit of browsing porn sites frequently, and he registered on a website using her email ID giving her photos and other details,” said additional DCP (Crime) Janaki Sharmila. The victim started receiving thousands of abusive emails from different parts of the world. She approached the police and lodged a complaint. However, the police are yet to find out why Subhash developed a grudge against the victim. The investigation officer said that it was one of the accused’s ‘wicked activities’. Police tracked down the accused by following the IP address of the computer he used and arrested him. He has been sent to judicial remand. The duo had cheated the complainant by claiming to be employees of Anna University who could get a seat at a medical college through their sources. The arrested were identified as Mohammad Nabi, who claimed to be an assistant professor at Anna University and his son, Imran, who claimed to be a personal assistant to the Vice Chancellor of Anna University. Investigations revealed that the son was a temporary office staff at Anna University, police said. The complainant, Dr Venkatesh, had approached the accused at Anna University quarters in April to get a MBBS seat for his son, Naveen Balaji. The accused had promised to get a seat in a Chennai college and demanded Rs 40 lakhs, police said. They also took an advance of Rs 32 lakh from the complainant and later deceived them without getting the seat and also dodged him when the complainant approached them for a refund, police added. Before the police could interrogate Khurana he switched off his cell phone. On Sunday, the police arrested Khurana from Punjab and on strict interrogation he confessed to his crime, SP Onkar Singh said.
