Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man, identified as Jagadish, reportedly raped a minor girl of 14 for almost nine months at Khairatabad. The incident came to light on Friday when the victim lodged a complaint with the police. The victim is a Class IX student. According to V. Venkata Narayana, the sub-inspector of Saifabad, Jagadish works as an office-boy at a private company in the city. He used to regularly pass through the lane near the Community Hall in Khairatabad where the victim lives with her family. The victim resides with her father, a labourer, and mother, a maid. About nine months ago, Jagadish befriended the victim and proposed to her. He even promised to marry her as soon as possible. It was during this period that he raped her. “Recently, when the victim fell sick, her mother took her to the Niloufer Hospital. There she got a pregnancy test done last Monday. The test reports were out on Thursday. The reports were positive for pregnancy,” Narayana said. On being questioned by her mother, the girl revealed what had happened. On Friday evening, the victim, along with her mother, went to the Saifabad police station. The victim recorded her statement before the officials. Following a complaint, a case under Section 376 of the IPC and Criminal Amendment Act, 2013, has been registered against the accused and the case is being investigated. Meanwhile, official sources said the accused has been arrested, but the same is yet to be shown. Balakrishna, allegedly killed his wife at their house in Brindavan Colony at Chikkadpally on Saturday. Cops said that Balakrishna slit his wife’s throat while she was sleeping in the wee hours of Saturday. The victim, J. Rajni, 35, died on the spot. Police said that Balakrishna was having an extramarital relationship. Rajni knew of this and opposed the affair. This led to the murder. Rajni was found dead in her bedroom. Balakrishna and his family members are absconding. To make it appear that the victim was involved in black magic, turmeric was sprinkled on her legs and on the floor. “The accused must have killed her while she was asleep. There was no sign of resistance,” said detective inspector K.Subbirami Reddy. The accused’s father, Chitaranjan, a local politician, and his mother Jagadamma were also present when Rajni was murdered. The murder came to light when neighbours informed the victim’s relatives, who live at Medchal. The relatives rushed to the spot and then informed the police that Balakrishna and his parents had been torturing the victim for many years. The police later tracked down Balakri-shna and his parents. “Though the victim was accused of practicing black magic, as per preliminary inquiry, we suspect that the accused murdered her in order to continue his extramarital relationship. We are investigating all possible angles of the case,” the inspector said. The inspector said that Balakrishna is an employee of Karvy Consultants Limited functioning from Banjara Hills. After receiving a complaint from the victim’s relatives, the police tracked down Balakrishna and his parents, and took them into custody. A murder case has been booked against the accused. They were recently released on bail. Srikanth had warned his uncle U. Bheemaiah Goud that he would kill him for informing the police. Bheemaiah and his relative M. Ravi tied Srikanth to a tree and attacked him with sticks. They also forced him to drink kerosene, and he died because of damage to internal organs. On Saturday afternoon, the girl and her mother were at home when he dropped by in a drunken state, the police said. The girl’s mother had rebuked him for drinking and refused to allow him to enter the house. Subsequently, the girl had also entered into an argument with the boy and asked him to either quit drinking or forget her, for which the boy, in a fit of anger, asked her to go die, the police added. The girl had entered the room angrily and locked herself inside. After sometime, hearing a scream from inside the room, the mother, Satish and a few neighbours broke open the door and found her hanging in the room. Based on the complaint by Subbiah, the Chennai police registered a case and booked six members of the Ponnusamy family of Kanyakumari district. According to the complaint filed with the Juvenile wing by Jameela, the boy’s maternal grandmother, he was subjected to mental and physical torture by his paternal grandmother. The boy was forced to live with her after his mother went abroad recently. The boy’s father has been working abroad for a long time. The complaint alleged that the boy was subjected to mental and physical torture and was denied food several times. As per the instruction given by the Assistant commissioner (crime detachment) P M Pradeep, the juvenile wing headed by sub inspector TP Surendran recorded the statement of the boy. According to his statement, he was provided spoiled food and beaten up badly and also subjected to verbal abuse, when he refused to eat it. The boy had an injury on his leg. The case was later handed over to the Medical college police and the investigation has been completed. The arrest would be recorded soon, police said. The boy has an elder brother, studying for Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Bengaluru. According to Pavaratty police, Harris was the ninth accused in the murder of RSS activist Byju of Marathayur, Pavaratty. Byju was found dead at a petrol pump near Puthoor after being attacked by four men who came on two motor bikes. He was brutally attacked with swords, according to police. Although he was taken to hospital immediately, he succumbed to injuries. He was murdered following an RSS-NDF fight around the area. Harris was accused of conspiracy and helping the attackers. Although Harris had escaped to Dubai shortly after the murder, he was arrested on October 4, 2009 when he returned to India. Harris was out on bail now. He has also contested the last panchayat elections from Maruthayoor near Pavaratty as SDPI candidate. It is understood that Harris offered Faiz his support for smuggling gold with the help of his wife Asifa and her friend Arifa. The two women, Reshma, 18, Raja Mandiram Peringad, Budanoor, and Prasanna , 38, Punnolil, Pennukara, Ala, near Chengannur, were sent to the sub-jail for women here. The others, Mani, 41, Mylamanalil, Pankipuram, Changanassery, Cheriyan T. Man molests mentally ill girl Kandukuru: A married man molested a 14-year-old mentally retarded girl at SC Colony in Kondamudusupalem village in Kandukuru mandal on Saturday. The accused identified as Mahesh belongs to same colony and he is father of two children. The victim has been living with her mother and Mahesh is also residing in the house next to them. Taking advantage of the absence of his wife and the victim’s mother, who are working as farm labour, at the home, Mahesh forcibly took the girl into his house and raped her. Locals rushed to the house and thrashed the Mahesh after the girl raised an alarm. Rural police detained Mahesh and sent the girl for examination to the government hospital. Athar alias Athu, 18, Sheik Salman, 19, and Sheik Khaja Garib Nawaz alias Khaja, 23. All of them are relatives and four of them except Garib Nawaz are residents of Janardhanreddy Colony in Nellore. Garib is a resident of Moolapeta in city. Interestingly, the accused have been committing offences since childhood and they were housed in child home at Tirupati in the past. Some of them also convicted and served jail sentence in Nellore prison. There are two robbery cases, one housebreak, 17 chain snatchings and 11 thefts in temples against the gang in Nellore city, rural, Venkatachalam and Indukurpeta police stations. Nellore SP P.V.S. Ramakrishna has distributed cash rewards to the team that investigated the cases after sharing the information to the media persons here on Saturday.
