A car with the name of militant group ISIS written on its registration number plate sent the Lucknow police in a tizzy.

A car with the name of militant group ISIS written on its registration number plate sent the Lucknow police in a tizzy. The photograph of the number plate with the registration number UP 32 HA ISIS, was sent to the traffic police by a member of the public on WhatsApp. The cops swung into action and found that the number 5 was designed to look like the alphabet “S” and therefore read as ISIS instead of 1515. Through the national vehicle registration e-service, (VAHAN) the police found out that the car , Maruti Ertiga, was owned by one Shabana Bano. The police are presently busy with preparations for Shab-e-Baraat in the old city and will be confronting the owner of the car. ASP Traffic, Habibul Hasan said, “This is a clear violation of Motor Vehicles Act and we are making efforts to trace the car’s owner and action will be taken”. Another police officer said the vehicle owner can also be booked for stoking communal passions or mischief.

If the owner is found to have used the fancy fonts intentionally.
