Chidambaram sees govt ‘onslaught’ as son’s friends raided by ED

Enforcement Directorate, income-tax officials and DRI sleuths on Tuesday raided the premises of associates of Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union minister P. Chidambaram, allegedly over suspected black money transactions of Vasan Eye Care.

Mr Chidambaram acc-used the government of a “malicious onslaught” against his family, saying if it wanted to target him, it should do so directly and not harass Karti’s friends.

“If the government wishes to target me, they should do so directly, not harass friends of my son who ... have nothing to do with politics,” he said, adding: “My family and I are quite prepared to face the malicious onslaught by the government.”
