The BJP has accused the Akhilesh government of creating tension in the state in a “planned manner” ahead of the Assembly elections in the state in order to divert attention from its own inadequacies.

The BJP has accused the Akhilesh government of creating tension in the state in a “planned manner” ahead of the Assembly elections in the state in order to divert attention from its own inadequacies.

Speaking at the state executive meeting of the BJP in Jhansi on Saturday, union minister Kalraj Mishra said that the BJP must work harder and present a viable alternative to the people of Uttar Pradesh.

“People are fed up with the situation in Uttar Pradesh and want a change. We only have to convince them that we can provide a better alternative. The people want good governance here,” he said.

“We need to strengthen the party right down to the booth level and assure people that change is possible,” the Union minister stated.

He said that the Modi government was working in the interests of the poor, downtrodden and weaker sections of society, while the Akhilesh Yadav government wasn’t even distributing financial aid to people.

He said that the Centre planned to bring more industries to the Bundelkhand region in order to remove the economic backwardness.

State BJP president Keshav Maurya, on the other hand, asked the Samajwadi Party president to give up nepotism. He termed Mr Akhilesh Yadav as the most unsuccessful chief minister and said that the ruling Samajwadi Party was anti-development.
