The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh is now identifying “full-time workers” who can give their time in various constituencies from August till the Assembly elections are held in the state.

For the first time, the party wants to post at least two to three full-time workers in each constituency to supervise the campaign, assist the candidate and keep an eye on local issues.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, apparently, has taken a cue from the RSS which has full-time “pracharaks” who work for the organisation.

The BJP will identify such workers from the main party organisation as well as frontal organisations.

“The full-time workers should be ready to stay away from their home for the next few months and spend all their waking hours in the constituency. There will be no festival or wedding breaks for these workers. The party would prefer young workers who can work without taking a break. This will also be an opportunity for them to prove their mettle,” said a party functionary.

The BJP strategists feel that young workers would also be able to connect better with young voters and can convince them to vote for the party.

The leaders from the frontal organisations have been asked to furnish a list of possible party workers who can devote full-time in the constituencies.
