Bengaluru: In the face of mounting attacks by the opposition BJP against Information and infrastructure Minister Santosh Lad whom they accuse of being involved in illegal mining, Chief Minister Siddar amaiah stuck to his guns on Tuesday and said that, with both his Chief Secretary, S.V. Ranganath and the Additional Chief Secretary giving a clean chit to the minister after verifying his firm's documents, there was no question of Lad being asked to step down. At the Janata Darshan, the Chief Minister said: “V.S. Lad and Sons company has been listed as 'C' category company by the Supreme Court, for dumping mining waste beyond the leased area. Following a court order, we have cancelled the mining lease of 52 companies including V.S.Lad and Sons,” adding he had said the same to freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy.
