The poster war in Uttar Pradesh is on in full swing. It is now Congress workers in Allahabad who have released a poster that puts up 10 questions to PM Narendra Modi.

Some youth leaders in Allahabad have also put up posters urging the BJP to make Varun Gandhi as the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Assembly polls.

These posters, however, target Union HRD minister Smriti Irani and the caption says, “Smriti Irani hui bimar, Uttar Pradesh ki yehi pukar, Varun Gandhi abki baar”.

The poster has been put up by one Ravi Sonkar Golu who is the president of the Khatik Samaj. The local BJP unit has disowned the posters and said that they had nothing to do with it.

Meanwhile, the Congress posters that have been plastered in the city are titled “Modi ke wade, Janata ke saath dhoka”.

Ten questions have been printed on the posters and these include ones like when will the youth get employment, when will Ganga become clean, when will Ram temple be constructed, when will Article 370 be abolished, when will corruption end, when will Dawood Ibrahim be brought to India, when will inflation come down, when will the people of India get `15 lakh in their accounts, when will farmers stop committing suicide and when will we get ten heads instead of one — a reference to beheading of an Indian soldier by Pakistan.

The poster carries the name of district Congress secretaries Irshadullah and Abhinn Varshney.

The poster further says that if anyone believes that the Prime Minister has fulfilled his promises, the person should contact the Congress leaders with documentary evidences and he will be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh.

This, incidentally, is not the first time that the Congress has launched a poster war against the BJP. The party leaders had questioned the ‘chaal’, ‘chehra’ and ‘charitra’ of the BJP in Kanpur when the party appointed Mr Keshav Maurya as its state president. The posters put up by party leaders made reference to the criminal cases pending against Mr Maurya.
