Royal tigress from MP on way to Odisha to live with partner

Bhubaneswae: A Royal Bengal tigress from the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh is on her way to Odisha’s Satkosia Tiger Reserve in Angul district, where she will meet her partner — a Royal Bengal tiger that reached the reserve last week. However, the route through which the tigress is being brought to the state has not been disclosed keeping in view security of the animal, source said.

The two-year-old tigress, named Sundari, is expected to reach the reserve by Friday morning.

The relocation the tiger and tigress, first of its kind in the country, is a part of state government’s efforts to revive tiger population in the protected forest.
