Youth’s tweet to Odisha CMO helps arrest three traffickers

The chief minister hailed the swift action of the police and lauded Amit for the tip-off.

Phulbani (Odisha): A youth’s tweet to Odisha Chief Minister’s Office has resulted in the arrest of three child traffickers and rescue of five minors.

Amit Nanda, who was travelling in the same bus in which the children were being trafficked, tweeted to the CMO drawing its immediate attention to the incident.

“Urgent Attention.. shivom bus. Berhampur to sambalpur. One person escorting four minor boys for forced labour probably,” the youth tweeted.

Following this, the CMO retweeted it to the Berhampur police, owing which the police swung into action and the Phulbani police rescued the five minors, besides arresting three traffickers.

“The state police has rescued four minors from the bus and detained three persons. A legal action is being taken. Thankful for your alertness and quick action,” the CMO retweeted. The chief minister hailed the swift action of the police and lauded Amit for the tip-off.

“Appreciate swift action of the state police to rescue these four minors from a bus. Sincere thanks to Good Samaritan @amitnanda11 for his prudence & help,” the chief minister tweeted.
