Hassan: Hassan district in-charge and minister for public works H.D. Revanna came in for sharp criticism from people on social media on Monday over the manner in which he distributed snacks to flood-affected victims at a relief camp at Ramanathapura, Arkalgudu taluk in Hassan on Sunday.

The video clip of a minute and a half that has gone viral over special networking sites shows Mr Revanna taking biscuit packets out from a box and throwing the biscuits at the people who had taken refuge at the relief camp.

Revanna was accompanied by Janata Dal (S) MLA A.T. Ramaswamy, who represents Arkalgudu taluk. Since the river Cauvery has been overflowing, the waters in the river flowing through Ramanathapura flooded several villages, with 150 people moved to relief camps.
