Woman given triple talaq for giving birth to a girl in Uttar Pradesh
Woman was married two years ago and this was her first child.
Lucknow: A woman was given triple talaq by her husband after she gave birth to a girl child.
The incident took place in Shamli district and the woman has filed a complaint with the police.
In her complaint, she alleged that her husband and in-laws also beat her up and demanded dowry for giving birth to a girl.
“My husband and in-laws beat me and abused me and asked me to get money and a motorbike from my father as compensation for giving birth to a girl child”, she alleged.
She said that she was married two years ago and this was her first born. Additional superintendent of police Shlok Kumar said that the case had been registered and action would be taken after preliminary investigations.
