Woman tied to tree, beaten up for 3 hours

Kendrapara: A woman from Kankadia village in Odisha’s Kendrapara district was tied up to a tree and beaten up for three hours by her neighbours for no fault of hers, reports said on Monday.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Sabitri Rout, was on Sunday dragged out of her house by her neighbour Sanjulata Jena, wife of Chitanya Jena, after her cattle entered into their garden.

She was tied up to a tree and beaten up mercilessly by Sanjulata and her son for nearly three hours before being rescued by the local police.

“My neighbour abused me after my cattle strayed into her premises. I was tied up to a tree and beaten up,” said Sabitri.
