Seven persons died and 22 people received burn injuries when a 5-kilogram LPG cylinder burst during wedding celebrations in Rafipur village in Barabanki district.

Seven persons died and 22 people received burn injuries when a 5-kilogram LPG cylinder burst during wedding celebrations in Rafipur village in Barabanki district.

Those killed included five children. The condition of 10 injured is critical. They have been admitted to the trauma centre in Lucknow.

UP CM Akhilesh Yadav announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of each victim.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon during the wedding of one Lallaram’s daughter.

A small LPG cylinder kept in the open burst due to intense heat and the tent caught fire. Those who died in the incident had received 60 to 80 per cent burns.
