A fresh set of 25 secret files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are likely to be declassified next week.

A fresh set of 25 secret files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are likely to be declassified next week. Minister of state for culture Mahesh Sharma said the declassified files may be made public February 23. “It is also expected files will be released on 23rd of every month,” a source said.

Over 100 secret Netaji files were made public by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Netaji’s 119th birth anniversary on January 23. The government had said the National Archives of India will release digital copies of declassified Bose files every month. The archives opened a dedicated website to store declassified material related to Subhas Bose.

In October, Mr Modi met Netaji’s family members and announced the government would declassify its files on Bose, whose disappearance 70 years ago remains a mystery.
