Zayn Malik sets US record

Zayn Malik has created history by becoming the first UK artist to debut at the top of the Billboard US Hot 100 singles charts with his single Pillowtalk.

The singer took to Twitter to thank his fans, writing, “I can’t explain the love and gratitude I feel today, thank you for making this happen,” as well as releasing a statement later that read, “Thank you to all my fans and supporters, we have achieved this together and I am grateful.”

Zayn, 23, had made headlines last year when he chose to leave boy band One Direction to pursue a solo career but it looks like it has finally paid off!
