Ever since Game of Thrones burst onto the scene, Peter Dinklage’s portrayal of Tyrion Lannister has had everyone raving. The Golden Globe winning actor seems to want a break from his dramatic role, to try his hand at comedy. Peter is lending his voice to the upcoming Angry Birds movie, where he’s essaying the role of the Bald Eagle.

The Bald Eagle is an anthropomorphic, mysterious giant for the birds residing in Bird Island. While none of the birds have seen him in real life, he has secrets about the islands up his sleeves. “Mighty Eagle likes to talk, talk and talk about himself. He has a mighty ego,” says Peter on why he chose to portray the role.

The animated movie based on the hit game with the same name will feature a star-studded cast of actors, including Sean Penn, Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Blake Shelton and Kate McKinnon in pivotal roles. “There’s a huge group of hilarious comedians starring in the movie, like the most number of funny people ever together in one movie,” says Peter. “I had such a blast upstaging all of them. My favourite part about the film is the slapstick comedy, it’s such a break from the slapstick drama I’ve been doing lately.”
