Lady Gaga infuriates China

American pop singer Lady Gaga has reportedly been banned by China’s Communist party after she recently met with the Dalai Lama. The singer met the Tibetan spiritual leader before a conference in Indianapolis. She posted a 19-minute video on her Facebook account, where she is seen discussing issues such as meditation, mental health and how to detoxify humanity with the Dalai Lama.

Their meeting sparked angry reactions throughout China. It was reported by The Guardian that Chinese websites and media organisations were ordered to stop uploading or distributing her songs. When a spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry was asked to react to the incident, “Who ” he responded, hinting that he was not familiar with the Grammy Award-winning singer.
