Ramanpreet Kaur continued to pile on misery for opponents, netting as many as seven goals as Baba Zoravar Singh Fateh Singh Senior Secondary Public School, Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), trounced Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector-18 (Chandigarh), 15-1 in the 23rd Nehru girls hockey tournament at Shivaji Stadium on Tuesday.

In Group A, Kirandeep Kaur of the Sector-18 school hit the first goal of the match in the sixth minute, but the Punjab school’s Simranjeet Kaur came up with the equaliser just three minutes later.

Amandeep Kaur scored in the 14th minute making it 2-1 for the Fatehgarh Sahib girls. Simranjeet (9th, 17th and 69th) and Amandeep (14th, 19th and 32nd) struck thrice each during the course of the match.

But it was Ramanpreet (16th, 31st, 48th, 50th, 52nd, 62nd and 65th) who hurt the Chandigarh girls the most with her strikes including a hat-trick. Mahima also joined the party scoring a brace.

Kiddy’s Corner HR Secondary School, Gwalior, pipped Birsa Munda Vidyapitha, Rourkela (Odisha), 1-0 with Sneha Singh scoring the lone goal in the 61st minute.

Later, SS Girls High School, Simdega (Jharkhand), thrashed Shri Guru Arjan Dev Government Senior Secondary School, Tarn Taran, 6-2. Pinki Ekka scored a brace (27th and 32nd) while Preety Minz, Betan Dung Dung, Reshma Soreng and Kamla Bilung hit the net once each for the Simdega school.

Baljeet Kaur (31st and 55th) was the only player from the Tarn Taran school to get on the scoresheet.
