Gucci’s New Face, a 79-year-old

British actress Vanessa Redgrave (79), has been chosen as the new face of Gucci’s ‘British Cruise’ collection for next summer, proving that for the Italian fashion house, style is ageless.

The veteran actress has starred in films like Foxcatcher, Atonement and Mission Impossible. Theater director Tennessee Williams once called her “the greatest actress of our time” and now Gucci’s chief designer, Alessandro Michele describes her as a British legend. The new campaign features Redgrave in several images, including one in a trench coat and sweater with the Union Jack. She is also featured in a promo video, set to the sound of an obscure eighties hit, My Perfect Cousin by The Undertones, in which she sits between models, wearing a punk outfit and fist-bumping her colleagues.
