Katy Perry’s ex-boyfriend has been comforting her following her marriage split. The Firework hitmaker and British comedian Russell Brand called time on their union in December after only 14 months of marriage and Katy’s former love, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy, says he has been trying to help the singer get over the break-up.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper, “There will always be a connection between us, I’ll always be there for her. When you’ve been in a relationship like ours, you will always make time for that person. Katy was there for me through my hard times when things were really bad.”
“Life goes on, I have regrets about the way things ended but there are no grudges anymore. I’ll always be there for her, she knows that. Do I think she got married to Russell too fast? When you’re feeling it, you’re feeling it. You can’t help how you feel,” he added.
Katy and Travie started dating in 2008 after she appeared in the video for his band’s song Cupid’s Chokehold but split in 2009.
