Jonita Gandhi was a young bloomer having started performing at the age of four. Born in India and raised in Canada, Gandhi always had her goal set to be an acclaimed performer. Her big breakthrough came when she worked with the iconic musician AR Rahman on two singles. Soon after her Bollywood career took off when she recorded the title song of Chennai Express. Since then there’s been no looking back, she’s already sung songs like Sau Tarah Ke from Dishoom earlier this year, the title track of Pink and now The Break Up Song from Ae Dil Hain Mushkil.

Five songs in the soundtrack of your life: I haven’t found a song that describes my life yet. I probably haven’t heard nearly enough!
Is there any music you used to love as a kid or a teenager that you’re now embarrassed by when you think back? I used to love the Spice Girls. Am I embarrassed? No. Would I listen to them now? Probably not.
How would you describe your taste in music: Native.
Your favourite time/way to listen to music during the day: When I’m traveling for shows, it’s TV channels that play nonstop music videos. Hotels are the only places I hear or watch the television.
