Henry Cavill’s salary same as Gal Gadot’s in first film

The issue of pay parity between men and women in Hollywood was once again rekindled when Gal Gadot’s salary for Wonder Woman was revealed. Various news articles said that the actress was given only $300,000 upfront salary while someone like Henry Cavil, who also debuted in a the super hero movie league with Man of Steel, was paid up to $14 million.

However, The Hollywood Reporter says that these reports are incorrect, as they fail to state that even Cavill only earned $300,000 as his upfront salary, and the rest he only earned in bonuses. So essentially, both the stars earned the same amount as their upfront salaries. THR also says that Gal Gadot’s number that is being projected does not include the large bonuses that she is likely to receive as the film reaches certain box office benchmarks.

Apparently, most actors who don’t have a box office track record yet earn salaries in the six-figure range and they receive bonuses if the film is successful. What we can do now is hope, wait and watch.
