Johnny Depp thanks fans for standing by him

The year 2016 wasn’t great for Johnny Depp. He lost his mother Betty Sue and went through a bitter divorce battle with his wife Amber Heard, where she even accused him of domestic violence .

So, when he won a People’s Choice Award earlier this week, he thanked his fans for standing by him.

After he accepted the favourite movie icon gong, he said, “I came here for one reason, and one reason only. I came here for you, the people, who through whatever good times or bad have stood by me and trusted me. I was very deeply affected by the kindness of your recognition and your well wishes to me and my family.” He ended his speech with a tribute to his mum.
