Kareena Kapoor Khan picks film by rank newcomer

A film to be directed by a newcomer seems to have found favour with Kareena Kapoor Khan who will shoot for it once Veere Di Wedding has wrapped up. The actress picked the film after reading through multiple scripts. The newcomer in picture is Raj Mehta, who has assisted director Shashank Khaitan of the Dulhaniya series and Dhadak.

Kareena slated to be paired opposite Karan Johar’s hot favourite Sidharth Malhotra, who desperately needs a biggie to get back to terra firma after four flops in a row.

The film will also have a younger pair being launched and we are told that they may well be from the television show that Karan has been judging recently.

Karan will be bankrolling the project and the movie will mark the entry of the umpteenth director from the Dharma Productions’ stable — the others being Soham Shah, Tarun Mansukhani, Ayan Mukherji, Rensil D’Silva, Punit Malhotra, Shashank Khaitan, Karan Malhotra, Siddharth P Malhotra, Shakun Batra, Nitya Mehra, Sonam Nair and Abhay Chopra.
