Rekha to dance after 21 years

The 63-year-old diva is slated to perform at the IIFA Awards being held in Thailand. An encore of her last performance is expected.

Bollywood’s evergreen actress Rekha recently paid designer Manish Malhotra a visit to have outfits tailored for her first performance in 21 years. She last took to the stage at an award function in 1997, when she danced to Salaam-e-Ishq from Muqaddar Ka Sikander and Dil Cheez Kya Hai from Umrao Jaan.

The 63-year-old diva is slated to perform at the IIFA Awards being held in Thailand, and an encore of her last performance is expected.

“Rekha ji wanted to make sure that her outfits were in order. This is the first time Manish Malhotra is designing an outfit for her to perform in. Rekha ji will be performing age-appropriate dances, and she wants the clothes to complement the performance,” a source reveals.

The usually saree-clad actress appeared determined to set the stage on fire as she stepped out of the designer’s studio wearing a black top and jeans.
