Aamir Khan, looking like Mangal Pandey for his much-awaited comeback following a sabbatical, gave his support to the project.
Mumbai: Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker created history with their collaboration 'Lagaan' becoming only the third Indian film to be nominated for the Oscar's foreign film category.
Despite that, the former rejected the director’s next film ‘Swades’.
Aamir reportedly felt the script was boring, but he did play a small but significant part in the film.
On the occasion of the completion of 13 years of the film on Sunday, Gowariker revealed that interesting trivia associated with Aamir along with pictures.

‘Swades’ might have flopped at the box office, but it remains till date one of Shah Rukh’s most critically acclaimed performances.
Incidentally, Shah Rukh’s son AbRam performed to a song from the film, ‘Yeh Tara Woh Tara’, at his school annual day function just a day before.
