Salman Khan to dominate 2019 Eid, Christmas

It seems that Salman Khan has taken the first-mover advantage and has booked two major festivals for his releases next year. The Prabhu Deva directorial, Dabangg 3 that was announced recently will now come out during Christmas 2019 — Aamir Khan’s favourite date, whereas, the Ali Abbas Zafar film Bharat will release earlier during Eid 2019.

With two major slots booked by Salman for the coming year, the other big stars know better not to come anywhere close those dates. “Stars like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan also look to release their films around these big festival dates. If Salman has taken up two dates, it becomes impossible to allow him to go solo. Right now, Bollywood faces a lot of competition from south films — The Baahubali series has shown that even they can pose a serious threat to Bollywood, just like how Hollywood is. With Salman doing many films, it will be an all-out war in Bollywood to get the right release dates,” says a trade source.
