The star has announced on a show that she would like Sabyasachi Mukherjee to design her trousseau.

On a recent chat show, that is yet to be aired, Deepika was asked by host Neha Dhupia which designer would she choose for her wedding trousseau. Now, Deepika (and a lot of Bollywood) have mostly stuck to Manish Malhotra as their go-to fashion designer when it comes to Indian wear. However, Deepika picked the other option offered by the host: Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Over Manish Malhotra.

Just last month, the country got to see Sabyasachi’s skills on Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. The designer was entrusted with the task of crafting all of Anushka’s looks, through the mehendi to the two receptions. Virat, on the other hand, was seen in a Raghavendra Rathore creation at their Mumbai reception. For all the other occasions, both Virat and Anushka were dressed by Sabyasachi.

Deepika too seems to be mesmerised by her colleague’s outfits and the designer’s sense of style. Apart from saying that she wanted to be a Sabyasachi bride, Deepika took a few digs at her boyfriend Ranveer Singh as well.

When asked to complete the sentence, “Ranveer, stop doing...,” Padukone answered, “Outrageous clothes!” A few days ago, the grapevine was abuzz with stories of Ranveer’s family having gifted Deepika a diamond set, and that she met Singh’s grandmother too. All of which were deciphered as signs that another big fat Bollywood wedding is in the offing. Sometime soon.

Now, whether was just the actress stating her preference or a cue about her wedding is left to be seen! Either way, we’re sure Deepika would make a resplendent bride. Won’t she?
