Mumbai: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the nuptial knot on December 11th and their first pictures were revealed last night. The pictures and videos clearly showed that the couple did not hesitate to make this special occasion a memorable one.

Here are three other things, as per a report on Pinkvilla, which made this occasion the one to remember:

Food:

The menu was an absolute delight for all vegetarians. Not only that, the couple kept the food a mix of Indian and Italian. The Indian delicacies included dosas and rabid, while the exotic Italian dishes were porcini mushrooms and stuffed ravioili.

Venue:

The newly weds must be given credit for choosing an exotic location for their wedding. Borgo Finocchieto was where the destination wedding was held. It is located in Tuscany, four hours south of Milan, Italy.

Here’s some sneak peek into the venue:

Outfits:

The wedding outfits of the bride and the groom were designed by Sabyasachi, who specializes in saree work. Anushka looked pretty in a pale pink lehenga with renaissance embroidery. Virat, on the other hand, was clad in ivory raw silk sherwani, hand embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern and signature house buttons.

Sabyasachi wrote on Instagram, “Anushka was to get married in Florence! And her lehenga just had to fit in. So we chose a colour that would blend in the whimsical Tuscan surrounding rather than stand out. It was blush pink with tropical flora and fauna, hand embroidered in silk floss. Exotic birds and butterflies were rendered with the finest quality needle craft. It took 67 karigars, 32 days to complete the ensemble. To complement her lehenga, beautiful jadau jewellery was handcrafted in uncut diamonds, pearls and pale pink spinel.”
