Wedding bells for Sonam, Anand in April

After much talking about, it’s finally wedding bells for Sonam Kapoor, who will tie the knot with her very devoted boyfriend Anand Ahuja.

Unlike many reports around, the wedding is slated to be at the end of this month on April 29 and 30, and not May 11 and 12. A very closely knit group of the Kapoor and Ahuja families are set to gather to bless the couple. 

Says a close friend of the family, “It was never Switzerland or any other destination for the couple. We don’t know where that came from. It was decided that the wedding would be in Mumbai and would be a very, very low-key affair, as Sonam’s aunt Sridevi passed away in February. Only a close group of family and friends have been invited and they have been told not to speak about the wedding to the media at all.”

Interestingly, Sonam’s parents Anil and Sunita Kapoor were in two minds about the wedding date. “They seriously considered shifting it to next year, due to Sridevi’s sudden demise. But Boney Kapoor, Sri’s husband, assured brother Anil that it was okay to go ahead with the wedding. Anil finally relented when Boney promised to attend the wedding,” the source adds. 

Sonam has been dating Delhi-based industrialist Anand for two years now, with her parents’ blessings. And the entire Kapoor family has taken a shine to Anand. “He’s already a part of the family. So the wedding was just a logical step ahead,” the family friend says.
