Shraddha Kapoor to play female lead in Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu?
Earlier, there were reports of Katrina Kaif taking up the role. However, she recently denied these rumours.
Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor will next be seen in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' director Shree Narayan's satirical courtroom drama, 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'. While the makers haven't finalised the female lead as yet, several names have been doing the rounds.
Earlier, there were reports of Katrina Kaif taking up the role. However, the 'Fitoor' actress denied these rumours, recently.
If reports in DNA are to be believed Shraddha Kapoor might going to see opposite Shahid Kapoor in the film. “The makers recently got in touch with Shraddha. She has been briefed about the role. The producers were looking for an A-list heroine to be cast opposite Shahid, who plays a lawyer in the film. However, it will require some prep. Katrina couldn’t sign the film because she didn’t have the time to do so,” a source revealed.
The upcoming film is mainly a legal drama, where Shahid will be seen fighting the electricity board and other governmental systems in order to resolve major corruption issues. The actress opposite Shahid will be playing a character of a fierce lawyer and his love interest.
'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
