Still awaiting her debut film release, Sara Ali Khan has already made the industry sit up and take notice, with her easy wit, intelligence and confidence.

Unlike other new actresses, who would be crumbling under pressure before the release of their first film, Sara seems determined to prove a point. “I don’t know what this pressure thing means but there is an urgent need to prove to myself that I am worth it; an urgent need to prove to my parents that I am worth it and then the industry, audience and media. I don’t know where pressure comes in the middle of all this.”

“So am I going to be chilling in Goa on the release day? Of course not! I am going to be eagerly waiting to read the reviews. So there is anxiety and enthusiasm, but I don’t think there is pressure. Because pressure kind of connotes that you are being pulled down, which I am not. This week has been the best week of my life. I love giving interviews. Because I realise that we are so close to the release that I will not get to do it anymore. These are my last minutes with Kedarnath, so I am living it fully,” she adds.

Kedarnath is about a Hindu pilgrim, played by Sara Ali Khan, who falls in love with a Muslim pithu (hired recruits who carry pilgrims on their backs to the shrine at the top of the mountain) with the weather God playing the villain. The film is heavy on VFX and will hit screens next month.

The actress, who shares screen space with Sushant Singh, Rajput couldn’t stop gushing about him. Says Sara, “Since Sushant was launched by Abhishek, they share a great equation. Sushant knows exactly what Abhishek wants and he kind of explains it to you before the shots. I had a great time working with him.”
