Unconventional safest Space now, says Ayushmann Khurrana

2018 has purely been Ayushmann Khurrana’s year. The actor who made some unconventional choices, wowed the audience with his films including Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, was indeed a game changer in the industry.

“Doing unconventional things is least risky now. Conventional has become riskier in this day and age. You have to do something different so that people buy movie tickets and come to cinema halls. Unconventional is the safest space now,” the actor says.

He adds, “The real star is the script; it is the script that makes you a star. I want to give them something unconventional every time, something novel. As an actor, it is a great space to be in.”

Ayushmann, who kick-started his career with the film Vicky Donor continued to make some unusual choices, something which has worked in his favour. He also reveals money has never been the driving force for signing up a project.

He says, “I have been true to my craft, and I always wanted to do things from the heart and that is fascinating and liberating for any artist. Money just follows.”
