In order to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing two years in office, the BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel is getting a 731-kg laddoo prepared jointly by a number of famous sweetshops in Old Delhi.

Mr Goel has said the 731-kilogram boondi laddoo will be prepared on the completion of the Modi government’s two years (731 days) in power on Thursday. “Twenty famous sweet-makers from Chandni Chowk will be preparing the huge ladoo. The weight of the laddoo represents the number of days that Mr Modi completed in office. The Modi government’s schemes will be highlighted on all four sides of the laddoo,” said Mr Goel.

Giving details, Mr Goel said a sketch of Lord Ganesha will be pasted on the 731-kg laddoo and the Modi government’s schemes will be written on it. “The purpose of the laddoo is that ‘prasad’ of two-year achievements of the Modi government must reach the people and fans of Mr Modi and the laddoo will convey these schemes in each and every village and town,” added Mr Goel.

The Rajya Sabha MP also aims to get the world biggest laddoo tag for his gift. “We will inform the Guinness World Records about the event and try to create a record,” he said.

BJP politicians will also organise a run for development, Vikas Ki Daud, in which 10,000 youth will join in at Khajoori Chowk, Bhajanpura. “Another event to mark the two years of the Union government, is an exhibition on the Modi government’s achievements in the Talkatora Stadium on June 5 that will be inaugurated by Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Suresh Prabhu,” said Mr Goel.

He said the Modi government had not only corrected the bad state of economy the country received in legacy from the UPA government, but has done important development work during the first two years of its tenure. “New schemes, like skills development and Start-Up India Mudra Bank, have been introduced and this is the reason that the Modi government is ruling in 13 states today,” he added.
