A Delhi court on Friday dismissed a criminal defamation complaint filed against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by a police constable for allegedly calling the policemen “thulla.”

Metropolitan magistrate Arun Kumar Garg said no case was made out against Mr Kejriwal and rejected the complaint.

Advocate L.N. Rao said he would file a revision petition against the order of the trial court as it had ignored several facts.

In its 14-page order, the court said Mr Kejriwal did not call the complainant “thulla,” he (Mr Kejriwal) did say it to a class not to the complainant.

In a similar case, Mr Kejriwal was recently summoned by a Delhi court that held prima facie he had committed the offence of defamation.

In the present case, Delhi police constable Harvi-nder, who is posted at Gov-indpuri police station, had filed a criminal defamation case against Mr Kejriwal through his counsel L.N. Rao. In his complaint, he had claimed he was insulted by Mr Kejriwal’s rem-ark on a TV interview in which the CM had referred to police personnel as “thulla.”
