Somnath Bharti: L-G threatened to file FIR against me

AAP MLA Somnath Bharti alleged that lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung had “threatened” to register an FIR against him after he raised the issue of change of land use of a plot from a nursery school to a BJP office at DDA meeting on Thursday, a charge strongly rubbished by the L-G’s office.

Mr Bharti claimed Mr Jung threatened to register a police case against him during the meeting of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday.

The meeting took place at Raj Niwas to “confirm” the minutes of the previous meet held on September 23, in which Mr Bharti was “not present”.

“The Delhi government had given several requests for land for schools and hospitals... The L-G said he will see to that an FIR is registered against me,” Mr Bharti told reporters, adding that Mr Jung ended the meeting abruptly. Mr Bharti also claimed that Mr Jung had also asked whether anyone was recording the meeting.
