School teacher, labourer held for murdering man in North Delhi

The Delhi police has arrested a school teacher and a manual labourer for the murder of a 30-year-old man, identified as Rahul, in North Delhi’s Timarpur on Wedne-sday. The couple, who were the girlfriend and friend of Rahul, had hatched a plan to murder him after he got to know about their affair.

Rahul’s blood-soaked body, with a slit throat, was discovered in a DDA Park in Gandhi Vihar. After investigation, the police found that Rahul was a marijuana add-ict and worked as a driver ferrying passengers from Wazirabad, DCP (north) Madhur Verma said.

Rahul met Shiv Kumari in February when he worked as a school van driver for a Sangam Vihar, Burari, scho-ol where Kumari was a teac-her. Despite being married, Kumari began an illicit relationship with Rahul. Later, Rahul had an altercation with the school principal and was dismissed from the driver’s job. However, Kumari and Rahul stayed in touch.

Rahul used to borrow money from Kumari and had plans to buy an Eeco with her help. The deceased came in contact with Mohd. Wasir, who used to work as a loader with a cold drink distributor company at the Old Delhi Railway Station, and both developed a friendship because both of them were marijuana addicts. Rahul borrowed `22,000 from Wasir on the pretext of buying a car. When Kumari was at her parents’ house in Chhattisgarh, Rahul used Wasir’s phone to call her. After Kumari’s return from Chhattisgarh, Wasir visited her house three-four times and they became intimate to the extent that the latter gave her a mobile phone with his photo in it.

When Rahul found through Kumari’s phone that she was cheating on him with Wasir, he threatened his rival and asked him to stay away from Kumari. Wasir, in turn, asked Rahul to return his money said he would he snap ties with Kumari after that. The deceased also threatened Kumari. Irked by Rahul’s interference, Kumari met Wasir and they made a plan to murder Rahul.
